Union Biometrica, Inc. to exhibit at Plant Biology 2013 in Providence, RI
Working with fragile plant protoplasts has long been a challenge. Union Biometrica has recently demonstrated high speed, gentle sorting of protoplasts. We have successfully used our instruments to sort intact plant protoplasts and encapsulated protoplasts. We will be available at the meeting to discuss some new applications of the BioSorter, including the use of plant cell clusters (calli), pollen and Arabidopsis thaliana seeds. These samples can be analyzed and dispensed intact owing to the low sample pressures, low shear forces and the gentle sorting mechanism. Union Biometrica has developed an autosampler, LP Sampler that automatically loads samples from multiwell plates to the BioSorter for analysis and resorting, as well as the VAST BioImager, a simplified flow-based platform for image acquisition and analysis.
