Purchasing, Logistics and Operations Coordinator

Job Description

Union Biometrica is seeking an energetic, purchasing and operations coordinator who can perform the rolls of purchasing, shipping, sales and field service support, and accounting support. This is multifaceted role that supports our small, life-science manufacturing business in Holliston, MA.

If you enjoy being the “glue” that holds operations together and thrive in a small, collaborative environment, then this position is ideal for you. You will work closely with everyone in the company including the CEO, sales staff, service engineers and manufacturing technicians. As the first point of contact for customers and vendors, both domestically and internationally, being organized and having good communication skills is a must.

Union Biometrica manufactures instruments that are used throughout the world in academic and commercial settings performing many different applications. The right candidate will join a small team of high-energy people manufacturing and selling sophisticated, automated instruments used in cutting-edge biomedical research such as drug discovery, toxicology and genetics research. You will interact with engineers, scientists, manufacturing and customers and vendors.

This position is based at our headquarters in Holliston, MA. This is a full-time position. Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement – the whole process from start to finish.
  • Shipping – coordinating and processing both international and domestic freight and small packages.
  • Customer support – including quotations, order enter and consumable order processing.
  • Accounting support – assisting with general accounting tasks including invoicing and collections.
  • Comfortable running reports, maintaining spreadsheets, and coordinating company events.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong background in procurement and logistics.
  • Excellent customer support skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting support and data management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft GP Dynamics or similar accounting/purchasing systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office software.
