Union Biometrica, Inc. to exhibit at ICE 2016/XXV International Congress of Entomology

September 15, 2016

The instrumentation is developed around the principles of flow cytometery with modifications to handle the larger sized objects, like insect eggs, embryos and larvae. These kinds of samples can be analyzed and dispensed intact owing to the low sample pressures, low shear forces and the gentle sorting mechanism of this flow cytometer instrumentation. The dispensing capabilities of these instruments provide the mechanization for automating the setup of studies in multiwall plates, allowing for such experiments as the screening of large chemical libraries.

The meeting will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL from September 25-30, 2016.  More information about the meeting can be found at: http://ice2016orlando.org/

About Union Biometrica, Inc.
Large Particle Flow Cytometry for Gentle Sorting of Model Organisms -- Union Biometrica offers tools for high throughput research of model organism such as Drosophila embryos and larvae, as well as other small model organisms such as early stages of zebrafish, C.elegans, sea urchin embryos, Xenopus eggs and embryos, Daphnia, various marine larvae and zooplankton. We provide Large Particle Flow Cytometers (COPAS and BioSorter) for objects that are too large / too fragile for traditional cytometers and offer an alternative to manual sorting. These systems analyze and sort objects based on size and fluorescent parameters. Automating this process offers increased speed, sensitivity, quantification, and repeatability of experiments.

Peer reviewed journal papers referencing our COPAS and BioSorter instruments can be viewed using the links below.
