Positions Available: Applications Scientists (USA and Europe)

Are you looking for a position that utilizes your advanced degree in biology but allows you to move beyond routine laboratory research to also use your people, teaching and communications skills while doing some traveling?

Union Biometrica, Inc., a division of Harvard Bioscience (NASDAQ symbol HBIO) is the pioneer in the design, manufacture and distribution of large object flow cytometers. COPAS BioSorters™ are used for the analysis and sorting of objects that are too large / delicate for traditional flow cytometers. These include objects such as small model organisms (C.elegans, D.melanogaster, Zebrafish), delicate cell clusters (embryoid bodies, pancreatic islets, duct cells, adipocytes, hepatocytes), Arabidopsis seeds, and 10-1,500 micron particles such as combinatorial chemistry bead-based drug libraries.

Your Function:

• Seminars and product demonstrations -- application and technical support during the sales process
  
• Collaborating with leading academic labs to develop new applications methods to solve customer research problems. Summarizing results into promotional Tech Notes.
  
• Training new Users
  
• Developing papers and posters to present at scientific meetings
• 60%-70% travel
  

Your Profile:

• An advanced degree (PhD preferable) in cell or developmental Biology, or related field
• Experience in Flow Cytometry preferred
• Good people / communications skills -- Comfortable speaking in public. Customer Oriented. 
• Ability to work independently or together with teams
• Fluent in English – multiple European languages is a strong plus for the European position
